Frequently Asked Questions
Is every JSON document valid YAML?
Yes. YAML 1.2 is a superset of JSON, so the data converts without loss. The converter writes it in YAML's more readable indented style.
Will strings like 'yes', 'no' or '1.0' stay as strings?
Yes. When a string could be misread as a boolean or number in YAML, the converter wraps it in quotes, so the output reads back to exactly the same data.
Is my data private?
Yes. The conversion runs in your browser, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
