Frequently Asked Questions

How is a weighted average calculated?

Each grade is multiplied by its credits or weight, the results are added together, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights. Courses with more credits therefore affect the average more.

Can I use percentages as weights?

Yes. For example, a midterm worth 40% and a final worth 60% can be entered with weights 40 and 60. The weights don't need to add up to 100.

Does this convert between grading scales?

No. Conversions between scales (for example 100-point to 4.0 GPA) differ by school and country, so check your institution's official conversion table.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
