Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use line or word mode?
Line mode suits code, config files, and lists, where each line is a unit. Word mode suits paragraphs of prose, where a small edit inside a long line would otherwise mark the whole line as changed.
What does 'Ignore whitespace' do?
It treats lines that differ only in spaces or tabs as equal. That's useful when one version was re-indented or has trailing spaces.
Can I compare large files?
Yes. The comparison runs on your device, so texts with thousands of lines work fine. Very large inputs may take a moment on older devices.
Are my texts stored or uploaded?
No. Both texts stay in your browser and are gone when you close the page.
