CSV to JSON Converter

Paste CSV data to get a JSON array right away. The first row becomes the object keys, and numbers and true/false values are typed automatically.

Your files never leave your device — everything runs in your browser.

How to Use

  1. 1Paste your CSV data, or copy cells straight from Excel or Google Sheets. Tab-separated data works too.
  2. 2Leave the delimiter on 'Auto-detect', or pick one yourself.
  3. 3Choose whether the first row holds column names, and whether to detect numbers and booleans.
  4. 4Copy the JSON, or download it as data.json.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it handle commas and line breaks inside values?

Yes. The parser follows the standard CSV rules (RFC 4180). Values wrapped in double quotes can contain commas, line breaks, and escaped quotes ("").

Why are some numbers kept as text?

Values with leading zeros, like ZIP codes (01234) or ID numbers, are kept as strings so the zeros aren't lost. To keep every value as text, turn off 'Detect numbers & booleans'.

Can I paste data copied from Excel?

Yes. Cells copied from Excel or Google Sheets are separated by tabs, and auto-detection recognizes that.

Is my file sent to a server?

No. Parsing happens locally in your browser, and your data is never uploaded.
