Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the data:image prefix?
No. You can paste a full data URI or just the Base64 part. The tool reads the first bytes of the data to find out whether it's a PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, SVG, ICO, BMP, or AVIF.
Why does it say the Base64 is invalid?
Usually the string was cut off when it was copied, or it contains characters that aren't part of Base64. Line breaks and URL-safe Base64 (with - and _) are accepted automatically.
Is the data sent anywhere?
No. Decoding and preview happen in your browser.
